Adoption Process
All of our kitties are from the NS SPCA, so we follow the same paperwork and adoption fees that they give us.
Step 1: Visit the lounge and the group of cats
In order to adopt you must first visit the cat at the lounge. Once you've physically come in and met the cat, you would then fill out the paperwork afterwards. The person who is adopting the cat and who will be the owner must be present in the lounge during the visit. You cannot place a cat on hold, it is first-come, first-serve.
Step 2: Fill out the paperwork
Once you've decided to make the commitment, let us know and we will get you started on the paperwork. Depending on who is available at the lounge, forms will either be completely on-site or over the phone. All paperwork is for one individual cat, so we do not have a generalized application that you can fill out beforehand.
Step 3: Wait for the pickup date and take your kitty home!
After the paperwork is filled out, you would just wait until the pickup date for your cat (found on our adoptables page), and that's it!
We do not do same-day adoptions. Cats are sent home a set date which is set upon their arrival. This pickup date is generally set roughly two weeks after the group arrives on the Sunday. They are picked up on the scheduled pick up day, at the end of the day when the store is about to close.
The adoption fee is typically $250 for adults, and is collected here, and then given to the SPCA.
Each cat includes or has received the following:
